The delivery and manufacturing industry is constantly evolving and adapting to the changing needs and expectations of customers, suppliers, and regulators. To stay competitive and efficient, these businesses need to leverage the latest technologies and innovations to optimize their processes, products, and services.

We constantly strive to help you and your clients achieve this with Storyblok - a content management system (CMS) with API-first approach. Our experience in the manufacturing industry digital landscape has shown us the importance of keeping the content stored, managed, and delivered independently from the front-end design and development, resulting in responsive, scalable, future-proof, and immersive websites.

In this article, we will focus on what benefits Storyblok can offer for the Manufacturing and Delivery industry and why it is the best possible solution to build websites and projects for this specific sector.

Transparent and manufacturing UX

Storyblok can be useful for creating smooth UX experiences for the manufacturing industry digital platforms as it can provide consistent and reliable content to various touchpoints, make a website easy to update without affecting the frontend design or functionality, as well as integrate with other tools and services, enhancing the user experience.

To help create their new transparent website with amazing UX, our Partner Softmedia was approached by Strijp-T Business Park - They chose Storyblok to help them achieve this goal.

Strijp-T focuses on innovation, creativity, technologically high-quality manufacturing processes and positions itself as the missing extra link in acceleration and qualitative growth for companies in the Brainport region. The company aimed to showcase its innovative character on the website in order to encourage interested recipients to interactively get familiar with their manufacturing products and services.

To present different building units, Business Park Strijp-T needed to create interactive UX paths, enabling visitors to easily navigate the website. Additionally, the company aimed to create a responsive website, which could include a wide range of multimedia presenting future plans of offered areas and buildings. To reach this objective it became necessary to implement a reliable technology that would connect the data and allow them to integrate smoothly.

With Storyblok, they were able to quickly create separate and consistent sub-pages for each characteristic building on Strjip-T’s digital platform. Storyblok’s content blocks can be copied, modified, and reused, which contributes to the website's consistency, transparency, and update efficiency.
The multiple content types and component approach allowed the website’s creators to fill out the company’s new platform with specific and well-structured information about their varied products and services.
Finally, responsive data interfaces were developed thanks to the mix of future-proof frameworks such as Vue.js and Nuxt.js, hosted on a secure and reliable Amazon AWS.

Innovative delivery of responsive and scalable websites without limits

Storyblok enables manufacturing brands to create content-rich experiences that can be managed on different platforms. As manufacturing brands are developing really fast today, it is very important to ensure the scalability of the platform. In addition, in order to reflect the functionality of the services presented, such a website should be maximally responsive and technologically unobstructed.
Check how our partner Hello Monday has achieved this with their client, Zipline.

With their futuristic delivery drones, Zipline constantly and instantly delivers autonomous technology and shapes the future of the delivering and manufacturing industry.

Zipline’s website needed to reflect this innovative and futuristic character of their brand identity and products. Therefore, planned features of the future platform included interactive maps, links, redirects to track potential drone routes, etc. The most important objective for this project was to make the new website responsive and uncluttered.
Moreover, the company’s previous website was not efficient because of content type limits, blocking Zipline’s content strategy. Moving forward, the company plans to expand and launch new products, which will require occurring content updates and scalability possibilities.

Storyblok’s component approach, wide range of content types, and flexible content creation workflows enabled Zipline to effectively structure all the information and multimedia in an organized and easy to follow form. This, in turn, led to the website’s improved scalability capabilities.
The possibility of implementing best-of-breed technology architecture allowed Zipline to cope with the task of presenting the various functions of its products, such as interactive maps, responsive animations, or images. The website was finally fully responsive, representing the innovative character of the company's services. Products’ complicated nuances could be fully showcased, because with the Storyblok, the client didn’t have to limit itself as to the amount of content published.
Finally, the decisive factor of choosing Storyblok was its Visual Editor, which contributed to streamlined workflows in terms of data and content management, and faster end-results.

How our eCommerce integrations transform manufacturing clients’ businesses

Manufacturing brands can benefit from Storyblok by eCommerce layer integration possibilities in several ways. Storyblok allows them to separate the front-end presentation layer from the back-end functionality, resulting in more flexibility and creativity in designing, and updating their online storefronts. This is especially important for manufacturing brands as they usually have both industry-related services alongside their own products, often in different stores. The separation of the front end from the back end is needed to efficiently disconnect these two important types of benefit delivery to customers, to make online shopping simpler, and to ensure transparency and quick availability of needed data.

See how our partner Cygnet Digital helped Magical Mushroom Company® build their digital webshop:

Magical Mashroom & Storyblok

Magical Mushroom Company® is specialized in manufacturing high-volume production capability of sustainable materials. The company needed to rebuild their website to enhance brand awareness and better reflect their corporate core values. Additionally, their objective was to build their own digital e-store to directly sell their products. To accomplish this, they turned to Cygnet Digital, our partner agency. Since the company was doing only phone sales, the goal was to create and connect a functional B2B webshop to ease and increase packaging sales. However, it was important to Magical Mushroom to keep the eCommerce and the company's corporate website separate.

With Storyblok’s integration capabilities, it was possible to build the webshop, connecting BigCommerce as the eCommerce layer. This facilitated the selling process, made especially for small to mid-sized companies who could now easily purchase off-the-shelf products. Also, the move made both their main site and webshop transparent, eliminating concerns about information mixing or inconsistent presentation between the two web presences.
