Storyblok Developer Meetup Recap
Storyblok is the first headless CMS that works for developers & marketers alike.
On July 7th our partner agency take it_ from Berlin hosted the first Storyblok developer meetup in their headquarters in charming Kreuzberg.
The event started at 6:30pm with snacks, drinks and a lovely introduction from Wessel van der Pal.
This was followed up by a talk by Thomas Sweet, front-end engineer at Storyblok. Thomas introduced some of the exciting features of Storybloks v2 interface, that is scheduled to be released on August 2nd. One highlight here was the integrated image editor in the asset manager, which gives a convenient tool for content editors crop, blur, annotate and much more, without the need for an external tool.
The improved UX and UI design and the brand new discussion features were met with praise from the crowd.
A quick Q&A session followed where concerns about changes were addressed.
After another round of snacks and drinks a demonstration by the hosts Andreas Sauer and Wessel van der Pal took place, in which they showcased how editors can make use of the atomic design principle within Storyblok to create entirely new components on the fly from existing building blocks. The showcased approach didn’t need changes to the existing codebase to achieve this, but going through the code to enable this principle was very educational.
The rest of the evening was filled with fun discussions among the attendees about various topics including the mandatory frontend framework discussions, fun and frustrations with different packaging approaches, cloud providers, pros and cons of remote work and much much more.
Throughout the evening it was teased that similar meetups, also for marketers and content-editors will be held in the future, so stay tuned and follow both take it_ and Storyblok on social media to make sure you don’t miss your chance to attend!
Thanks again to take it_ for hosting the event, we’re looking forward to the next one!
